Location
HSVD is located at the Morris High School Campus, 1110 Boston Road at 166th Street in the Bronx.
Directions
Take subway: 2, 4, 5 to 149 Street-Grand Concourse
Transfer to Bus: BX21 stops right in front of the school on Boston Road.
Arrival / Entrance
- Students should arrive at the school between 8:00am and 8:15am.
- Students enter the building through the cafeteria entrance on Jackson Avenue. They must stay in the cafeteria until 8:00 A.M. Free breakfast is available.
- Students must enter HSVD through the staircase located between Rooms 502 and 504.
- All students are expected to be in their 1st period class, ready to work, before 8:40 A.M. 1st period begins promptly at 8:40 A.M. Students not in their 1st period class by 8:40 A.M. will be marked late for school.
Reporting an Absence
- Parents must report student absence or lateness to the school office before the school day begins. The school voicemail (718-542-3700) works 24 hours a day. After you hear the operator’s announcement, press 5082 for HSVD voicemail. The schools direct line is (718) 842-0687.

Basic Information
- HSVD students will use rooms 501, 502, 504, 505, 506, 507, 509, 511, 514, 516, 518, 601, and 701. Students will eat lunch in the basement cafeteria. HSVD Physical Education students will take this class in the 5th floor gym. They may not go to any other area of the building without permission.
- The regular school day ends at 3:40 P.M.
HSVD offers extensive after-school activities and tutoring. Your child may participate in these activities with your written consent.
- All students must have a medical examination within the previous year. Students may not attend classes unless medical and immunization records are up-to-date and on file in the HSVD Main Office.
In case of very bad weather, information regarding the cancellation or delay of classes can be heard on most major New York City radio stations including WCBS (880 AM) and WINS (1010 AM). You can also check out the New York City Department of Education website at http://schools.nyc.gov for the latest information on school closings.
